The climate in Pueblo County is semi-arid, and is generally warmer than its neighboring counties to the north, making the winters comfortable and mild. Pueblo's temperate climate, with an annual average temperature of 68 degrees, makes it a very attractive community in which to settle for businesses and families alike. Southeast Colorado is also known for its 300 days of sunshine!
Pike & San Isabel National Forests is nearly 3 million acres. It is a busy urban national forest noted for the majority of fourteen thousand foot peaks in Colorado. With 9 Wilderness areas, numerous Scenic Byways and a full spectrum of outdoor opportunities, it is no wonder that the PSICC ranks third highest in the nation for recreational visits.
Lake Pueblo State Park provides 4,500 surface acres of water, 60 miles of shoreline and almost 10,000 acres of land. Full service marinas and a diversity of campsites welcome guests to stay awhile. Land recreation includes hiking, biking, picnicking and nature exploration. Enjoy views of the Greenhorn and Wet mountain ranges to the southwest and the magnificent Pikes Peak to the north.
